Our Rusty

Our Dear Rusty Boy

Stevie (left) and Rusty (right)

Rusty come to us in February 2006 when I picked him up from Katrina. He was very skinny and almost bald from his hair falling out. He was dubbed Monk cause his hair was thin at the top and thick at the bottom like the monk off Robin Hoods hair-do.

Mum fell in love with him and decided to keep him to give Stevie some companionship. The two boys fell in love.

Within no time at all Rusty had all of his hair back and put on a lot of weight.

Sadly Rusty started getting sick early October. He stopped eating, had no energy and never played.

On the 7th of November he had his last visit to the vet who diagnosed liver failure. He was put to sleep to end his suffering.

Stevie and Tinky gave him a lick after he passed to the bridge and my girl Sugar gave him a lick on the ear to say goodbye.

Rusty is the first ferret in my life that has passed onto the other side and the heart break I have felt today has been enormous.

He will be sorely missed by his ferret family Stevie and Tinkymew. Also missed by Ken and his mum Dianne.

Rest in peace little guy and play hard on the other side. We will see you again when we arrive.

Love Mum (Dianne) and Dad (Ken).
